TALHI Membership and Dues Information

Benefits of Membership

    The following important services are provided for Members by TALHI:

Regular Members

    Any life and health insurance company, or group ("fleet") of companies, licensed to write life and/or health insurance business in Texas may become a Regular Member of the Texas Association of Life & Health Insurers. Executives and other officers from many companies, large and small, from coast to coast, contribute their time, talents and support for the continuing progress of the Texas life and health insurance industry through TALHI. Regular Members receive regular legislative, regulatory and member bulletin updates, participate in topical conference calls, seminars, and working groups, and may serve on any of the various TALHI Committees and vote on all issues which come before the General Membership of TALHI.

Associate Members

    Accounting, actuarial, law, computer, consulting, marketing, banking, financial, reinsurance and brokerage firms engaged in serving the life and health insurance industry are welcome to join TALHI. TALHI Associate Membership allows you to keep up with the major issues and changing legislative and regulatory matters facing your existing clients. Many firms find Associate Membership in the Texas Association of Life & Health Insurers is an excellent way to network and make valuable contacts for potential clients. In addition, Associate Members frequently contribute their expertise in presentations at TALHI Annual Meetings and Forums. Associate Members enjoy all of the services and privileges of regular TALHI Members, with the exceptions of holding office and voting.

Dues

    Regular Membership now includes all affiliated life and/or health insurance companies of a Member's corporate structure that are licensed to do business in Texas. Regular Membership Dues are on a graduated scale, based on premium income in Texas as reported in a company's annual statement (i.e., 2006 dues are based on premium income derived from 2006 Annual Statement Schedule T, Line 44: the sum of 25% of Annuities and Other Deposits and 100% of Life & Accident & Health Premium, including Texas premiums for all companies within a fleet -- (2008DuesSchedule). Dues are payable annually on February 1st, or semi-annually on February 1st and October 1st.

    Dues for new Members are generally pro-rated for the balance of the year following the date of joining.

    Associate Membership dues are currently a flat fee of $1,575 per year.  New Associate Member dues are pro-rated for the balance of the year following the date of joining.  Dues may be paid annually at February 1st, or semi-annually on February 1st and October 1st.
