Abbott Calls for Special Session
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has called for the legislature to reconvene for a special session starting July 18. The key issue, which must be resolved before any other issues are discussed, is the "sunset legislation" to keep several crucial state agencies alive. Once that legislation is resolved, other issues to be considered include the "bathroom bill," abortion and maternal mortality, property taxes, school finance/school choice, and mail-in ballot fraud.
