TRS 403(b) Proposed Rule Comments Due Monday
As a reminder, comments on the TRS 403(b) proposed rule are due to Brian Guthrie, Executive Director of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) before the close of business on Monday, July 17. TRS has proposed to amend existing rules and proposes new rules for 403(b) plans. TALHI will be submitting supplemental comments to the ones provided at the recent stakeholder meeting.

Special Session Starts Tuesday
The special session of the Texas Legislature called by Governor Greg Abbott will be begin on Tuesday, July 18. The Texas Tribune has posted a summary overview of what to expect in the session.

From the Comptroller
The Texas Comptroller’s office recently published an article discussing unclaimed property and SB 561, which was one of TALHI’s key pieces of legislation this session. The article can be viewed here.
