TDI Valuation Manual Rules
TDI has proposed amendments to 28 TAC §3.9901, concerning the adoption of a valuation manual for reserving requirements. This is in accordance with SB 1654, which was passed by the 84th Legislature in 2015. These amendments, which would go into effect on January 1, provide updated reserving and reporting requirements for the valuation manual, in order to make it substantially similar to changes adopted by the NAIC. Presidential Executive Order
As the industry considers the implications of the Executive Order issued by the President this week, AHIP has provided two documents with relevant background information: a brief on association health plans and a document that describes the differences between short-term plans and exchange, ACA compliant plans. AHIP has not yet issued a formal statement on the EO, pending the opportunity to review the text of the order.
