The Texas Department of Insurance proposes amendments to 28 Texas Administrative Code §§7.1801, 7.1802, 7.1804 - 7.1808, and new §7.1809, concerning withdrawal and restriction plan requirements and procedures.
CHAPTER 19. LICENSING AND REGULATION OF INSURANCE PROFESSIONALS
The Texas Department of Insurance proposes amendments to 28 TAC §§19.801, 19.1003, 19.1004, 19.1013, 19.1016, 19.1019, and 19.1310, and new §§19.803 - 19.810, concerning licensing and continuing education requirements of insurance professionals, including agents, adjusters, public insurance adjusters, managing general agents, risk managers, and home office salaried employees. The amendments and new sections are necessary to implement legislation that was passed in 2015.
NAIC/IBR One-Pager
TALHI has developed a one-pager on state-based insurance regulation in Texas which explains how the NAIC is an important forum for collaboration, and explores some concerns industry has with the way the NAIC operates on some issues. The piece goes into the incorporation by reference (IBR) issue that was brought up last session and explains how Texas’s statutes and rulemaking process prevent IBR being an issue in Texas.
