Texas Legislative Session Ends Monday
Monday, May 29, is the last day of the Texas legislative session. We will hold our regular call on Wednesday, May 31, for an initial, brief session wrap up. To call in, dial 1-888-537-7715 and enter code 987-666-987# when prompted. After the Governor’s veto period passes (June 18), we will, as always, host a comprehensive session wrap-up webinar and produce a full session wrap-up report.

TALHI Bill Action
SB 561, the NCOIL Unclaimed Life Benefits Model, and SB 507 (balance billing mediation) have been signed by the Governor. HB 1073 (PWA clean up) and HB 1197 (temp license training time) are on the Governor’s desk awaiting his signature.

SB 1070, Credit for Reinsurance Model Act, is still awaiting action from a House/Senate conference committee on changes made to the Reinsurance Model during the process.

AHIP CEO Forum in Austin
