TRS Proposed Changes to 403(b) Rules—Call Tuesday at 9 AM Central
The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) has proposed to amend existing rules and proposes new rules for the certification of companies offering qualified investment products through what are commonly referred to as "403(b) plans," which educational institutions make available to their employees, and the registration of those products. The proposed amendments are part of TRS' four-year rule review of Chapter 53 in Title 34, Part 3, of the Texas Administrative Code (TAC). TRS proposes amendments to the following sections of its 403(b) rules: §53.1, relating to definitions; §53.3, relating to maximum fees, costs, and penalties; §53.4, relating to qualifications for certification by companies offering qualified investment products that are annuity contracts; and §53.5, relating to qualifications for certification by companies offering qualified investment products other than annuity contracts.

2018 Dues Notices
In keeping with our annual tradition, we will be sending out dues notices for 2018 next week. These are not dues invoices, and your dues payment is not due at this time. These are merely statements to help you when planning your company’s 2018 budget.

Actual dues invoices will be sent out with renewal packets in October 2017. The designated primary contact for each company will receive dues notices via email next week. (If your company’s primary contact has changed since last year, or will change before October, please let Sharon know.)
