TDI Life & Annuity Comment Period Extended
TDI has extended the comment deadline on the proposed life and annuity rules until August 17. Information on the draft rules can be found here; a TALHI summary and analysis can be found here.

TAHP Files Suit Over Out-of-Network Rules
Yesterday the Texas Association of Health Plans (TAHP) filed suit against the Texas Department of Insurance. TAHP’s legal challenge contends that the Department adopted regulations inconsistent with Texas law as enacted by the Texas Legislature. Those regulations, among other things, mandate minimum payments to out-of-network doctors, facilities, and health care providers in any emergency situation. More information may be found in TAHP’s press release.
