Guaranty Association Model Draft Available Soon
Jackie Rixen, the Texas Life & Health Guaranty Association’s General Counsel, confirmed she will have a draft bill available before TALHI’s September 12 meeting to review the language. Look for a draft the first week of September.

Special Insurance Regulatory CLE Opportunity
The Austin Bar Association and the Insurance Section of the State Bar of Texas are sponsoring alunch hour event with 30 mins of CLE credit and networking between public and private practitioners. This event will take place Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at noon in the ABA office at 816 Congress Ave., Ste. 700, Austin, TX 78701. Join Us at the LIPAC Dinner
Don’t forget that our annual LIPAC Incentive Dinner will take place in conjunction with the Round Up on Monday, September 24, at 7 pm at the Hotel Emma. In addition to dinner, attendees will enjoy a post-dinner cruise on the San Antonio Riverwalk. A list of eligible member companies who have participated in the Incentive Program this past year is available here; if you’re not on the list, it’s not too late to pledge your PAC, corporate, or bundling donation(s) and join us at the dinner.

Mark Your Calendar for LIPAC Bundling Reception
Again this year at the Round Up, we will have a bundling fundraising reception with our legislator panelists immediately following their panel on Tuesday, September 25 at 5:15 pm at the Hotel Emma. At this time, legislators confirmed to be in attendance are Senator Larry Taylor and Reps. John Smithee, Chris Turner, and Rodney Anderson. Senator Jose Menendez and Representative Hubert Vo have been invited but have not confirmed their attendance.

This reception is open to any members who are planning to support one or more of the legislators with donations. Suggested minimum donations are $500 for House members and $1000 for senators. Please RSVP and let us know who from your company will be attending, which legislators you plan to support, and at what contribution levels.
