Proposed HMO Rule Changes
TDI has proposed an amendment to 28 Texas Administrative Code §11.901(d), to clarify that a health maintenance organization is not required to exceed the requirements of Insurance Code §843.306 and §843.307. Certain language deemed unnecessary has been marked for deletion. More information is available here.

Stakeholder Meeting on Rates of Insurance Examination Assessments and Maintenance Taxes
TDI is holding a stakeholder meeting on Thursday, October 25 to invite input on preliminary estimates of projected assessment rates, methodology used to determine said rates, and draft rules to establish the rates. More information is available here.

Important Meetings Next Week
TALHI will be meeting with TRS staff Monday to discuss 403(b) law changes. Jennifer will also be meeting with Representative Craddick’s Chief of Staff Katharine Chambers and Jan Graeber with TDI to discuss the “cost of insurance” legislation. Jay Thompson will be attending a Public Information Act stakeholder meeting arranged by Rep. Capriglione and Senator Watson on Tuesday. We’ll provide updates on these meetings on our Wednesday call.

AHIP Meeting in DC
Jennifer will be attending the AHIP State Issues Retreat in Washington, DC next week. Please let her know if you will be there, too!
