TDI Now Requires Online Insurance License Applications
Paper applications are no longer available for Texas insurance agent licenses that have an online option. Applications for most types of licenses are available via the Sircon system. The following license types do not yet have an online option and must use the paper application: temporary, insurance service rep, life and health insurance counselor, risk manager, public insurance adjuster. TDI has an online form available if you have any questions. Jennifer is waiting to hear back on whether provisional licenses are available online.

TALHI Meeting to Discuss Guaranty Association Updates
There will be a lunch meeting in the TALHI office on Wednesday, September 12, at 11:30 am to discuss the guarantee association model update. For your review ahead of the meeting, we have a draft bill, a synopsis, and a comparison chart. If you will be attending in person and have not already let Jennifer know, please reply to this email. Senate B&C Announces Interim Hearing
The Texas Senate Business & Commerce committee will hold an interim hearing on Monday, December 10, at 9 am. They will hear invited testimony on issues affecting the Texas health insurance marketplace and hear from TDI with updates from Hurricane Harvey.

In Memoriam
We are sad to report that David Knoll passed away Wednesday after a brief battle with lung cancer. The date for services has not been set. David always enjoyed the TALHI events and had many friends in the life industry. Prior to joining Winstead and then Thompson Coe, David worked for American General/VALIC in Houston and had a lot of experience in mergers and acquisitions in particular.
