TALHI Bills Continue to Progress
TALHI’s 403(b) legislation, HB 2820, was voted from Senate committee on Monday and recommended for the Local Calendar. The bill’s Senate sponsor has added it to the full Senate Intent Calendar, though, in case the bill could pass more quickly from the Senate floor. We will keep you posted on any developments. HB 3306, the Corporate Governance Model bill, is expected to pass on the House Local Calendar today. Two other priority bills, SB 1153 (Guaranty Association Model Update) and SB 1852 (CCP Signature Removal), are waiting to be placed on the House Calendar, which is expected soon. The House Calendars Committee is currently prioritizing adding House Bills to the House Calendar.

Non-Guaranteed Charges Disclosure Bill Advancing with TALHI Amendments
Senator Kelly Hancock has picked up HB 207 in the Senate and has agreed to make the technical amendments TALHI is requesting. Though it is not confirmed whether former-Speaker Craddick has also approved the amendments, recent communications indicate he is fine with our changes and will not dispute them. The bill is expected to be heard in Senate B&C on Tuesday, and TALHI will testify briefly at the hearing.

TDI HMO Amendments Withdrawn
Proposed amendments to 28 TAC §11.901, relating to HMO physician and provider contracts and arrangements, have been automatically withdrawn due to the agency’s failure to adopt them within six months of their initial October publication in the Texas Register.

TALHI Voting Ends Today
Today is the last day to vote for the 2019-2020 Board of Directors and officers and bylaws updates. You can view the slate of candidates and vote online. Only regular members of the association may vote. Not voting will be considered acceptance of both the slate of candidates and the bylaws update.
