TALHI Legislative Package Filed
The final pieces of TALHI’s legislative package were filed this week, ahead of Texas’ bill filing deadline. Senator Paxton filed SB 1852, our bill removing a signature requirement on renewal of a Consumer Choice Plan; and Senator Hughes filed SB 1977, our bill removing duplicative regulation from the 403(b) system in Texas. Jay Thompson was successful in having Senator Zaffirini file SB 2122, the Corporate Governance Model Act. These bills join HB 1864/SB 1153, which is TALHI’s Life & Health Guaranty Association update legislation. Only a Week Left to Register
TALHI’s 2019 Legislative Forum & Lobby Day is just a little more than a week away, March 19-20 in Austin, so don’t forget to register if you haven’t already. This event is approved for 2.5 hours of CLE credit from the State Bar of Texas.
